Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I had a blood test where my liver enzymes were a bit high....the doctor ordered an ultrasound so will have that done next week. I ve given up Excedrin, but still take a cholesterol lowering medicine...plus I ve changed my diet. It has been one month......does it take longer to lower the enzymes? Thank you.
According to the treatment your doctor gave, it looks like you have hepatosteatosis (non-alcholic fatty liver disease). You must be on a strict diet, do regular exercise, cease smoking and alcohol consumption. Having a consistent lifestyle is more important than transient decrease on liver function tests. If you live healthier, your enzymes will definitely decrease.
Hope you get better soon
