Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Elevated Blood Sugar Levels While Suffering From Bronchitis Be Treated?
I have had Acute Bronchitis over the past 2 weeks. My Physician treated it with z-pack. My blood sugar levels (diabetic-Type 2) have been elevated also recently at various times during the day. I take Metformin for this and notice that my levels lower significantly when I take an additional dose, per my Physicians recommendation. Will my sugar levels eventually stabilize.
Since your body has had a stress the past 2 weeks, it may be normal and elevated in blood sugar level. Since taking another Metformin dose lowers your blood sugar level, I recommend you to continue with this doses for some time and to closely monitor your blood sugar level, cause it may come to normal after a few days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi,
General & Family Physician
