How Can Earache Be Treated?

I have an ear infection in my right ear and have had a sinus cold for over a week. My ear has been clogged for 2 days now. And hurts today. I went to the ER and got amox-clav. Now it s 11:30 at night and my left ear is clogged now. Is that normal? I m freaking out. Should I go back to the ER?
