How Can Ear Infection In A Child Be Treated?

Hi my daughter had itching in her ear i took her to the ER and they told me it was an ear infection and removed something dark like black looking stuff from her ear and said it was Q-tips they perscribed her ear drops but now she has like white stuff from her ear what should i do ? What is it?

Hi,

Your daughter can have the white stuff from the ear due to ear infection. She might need to be seen by a doctor again to determine if it is infection of the ear canal or behind the eardrum.

If the infection is from behind the eardrum she will need oral antibiotics.
Please try to avoid water from entering her ear as it may make the infection worse. Use cotton to plug the ears during showers.
