1. It is a physiological phenomenon that cold virus causes a build-up of fluid in the middle ear making it difficult for sound to travel efficiently from the outer ear to eardrum, so due to this congestion and presence of swimmer's ear, it may lead to an ear infection in the middle ear, causing temporary hearing loss.

2. It is wise to consult an ENT specialist since problem of having sinusitis and now running nose, might have progressed to Rhinosinusitis, till then:

till then:

- steam inhalation to help loosen thick mucus.
- regular nasal rinses.
- Avoid heavy, slimy and acidic food, curd, mustard oil, excess physical exertion, sunlight-dust areas, exposure to strong winds, day sleeping, smoking, potato, green leafy vegetables. Cold water/food
