How Can Ear Bleeding Caused After Cleaning The Ear Be Treated?
My son who is disabled and non-verbal, had his ears that were impacted with earwax cleaned out two days ago while fully sedated for another medical procedure. He is now having bleeding out of his right ear? Should we be concerned about this? We can not take him to a doctor or emergency facility as he is terrified of medical facilities and personnel so has to be fully sedated for any medical visit. It took two years to arrange this sedate. Thank you!
Well bleeding from ear can be due to inflammation or injury to the ear canal during the cleaning process. There can also be infection in the ear and as the wax is removed it might have flared up. If there is no pain then you can wait for a few hours and see if bleeding subsides.
But if there is pain or the bleeding does not reduce then you can consult a Physician who can examine your child casually and not in proper clinical setup so that he does not get terrified or when he is asleep so that the cause can be ruled out and treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora, Dentist
