How Can Diarrhea In A Toddler Be Treated?

My baby, two and half months old is suffering from continues motions( at least 11 to 12 times a day with much water in stool) from a month. We are using the medicine prescribed by the doctor also but of no use. He had also swollen umbilical cord with normal look. Motion test is also done. Report are good and no infection. What should I do. Baby is a pre-mature and of low birth.

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
The prolinged diarrhea in a 2&half months child, premature by birth is more likely due to lactose intollerance...
Confirmation of the diagnosis by blood or breath test ,change in feeds, suplimentationof enzymelactase are the specific manegement methods.
Please consult his paediatritian.

Thanks.
