How Can Diarrhea And Urinary Incontinence Be Treated?

My mother is 98 yrs, type II diabetes, suffers from spontaneous liquid diarrhea & associated simultaneous urination. These bouts may result in 5-6 bathroom visits in a 24 hour period. This seems to take place every 3 days for a day at a time. It leaves her weak, and she reports occassional blood (dark) in the stool. Gas in her system is also a common symptom. These episodes leave her unable to leave the house for the day of the symptoms. Looking for a way to reduce or eliminate these symptoms, so that she is not housebound by these unpredictable on sets. Any advice that can be proffered is appreciated.
