How Can Constipation Be Treated When Miralax, Dulcolax And Milk Of Magnesia Didn't Work?

Nothing cleanses my bowels. Miralax, exlax, dulcolax, milk of magnesium. The prep before a colonoscopy barely worked. The doctors have found no medical cause. After a hysterectomy many years ago, a doctor told me never to get constapated. I think that has something to do with this. Any suggestions on what might actually work.

hi mam, really constipation is the most distressing problem known only to those who experience it.hysterectomy has nothing to do with constipation.your doctor,s intention is that it would take at least 6weeks for the internal sutures to heal after hysterectomy.during that period, any increase in abdominal pressure(cough, straining at stools),would loosen the sutures.soconstipation is to be avoided during that period only.now coming to your problem, cremaffin syrup 5ml 1hr before sleep at night would surely help you.but avoiding taking it for a long time as it may be habituated.hope my answer benefits you in relieving your distress and I wish you a very happy healthy and peaceful new year.thank you.any other queries, please do write to us.take care.bye.
