How Can Constipation Be Treated After A TURP Surgery?

I am 72 years old. Yesterday I had 'TURP' - prostate surgery as outpatient. After the surgery nurse bombarded with Oxycodone to relieve the pain. Now I have big constipation and when I push blood comes outside of Foley catheter.

Hello,

Constipation after TURP surgery may be due to electrolyte imbalance like hyponatremia or hypokalemia or due to low fibre diet.

So drink plenty of water avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine. Eat a high fibre diet, do regular exercise.

Use syrp Cremaffin plus 30 ml daily night. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
