How Can Clogged Arteries In The Heart Be Treated?

I am anRN and watched my husband die in a surgicalICU because they didn t know what they were doing. This happened 3 years ago. I finally found a man I really love and want to be with. He is 64, good physical physique, but I just found out something is wrong with his carotid artery. I assume plaque and somewhat blocked. Please tell me best tx. Also on metphormin foe diabetes. Excellent skin color. He looks like the picture of terrific good health. Please tell me best treatment.

Hi,

Your partner should be on a cholesterol lowering agent (even if his cholesterol level appears normal) as well as aspirin daily. He should monitor himself for symptoms like dizziness and fainting and see his doctor should he experience these symptoms. He would need ultrasound monitoring of his carotid artery diameter. Good blood sugar and blood pressure control are also essential.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Musarrath Raboobee
