How Can Chronic Tinnitus In The Left Ear That Worsens While Lying Down Be Treated?

For a year I had a wooshing sound in my left ear. If I am sitting upright I barely hear it, but as soon as I lie down it worsens. I have seen an ENT specialist but he was not able to resolve the problem. He wanted to do surgery but told me a may lose my hearing completely.

Thanks for contacting with your health concern.

1. most of the time the exact cause of tinnitus is not known [nonspecific] and clinical relevance is only significant when if it is associated with hearing loss or dizziness, you may contact an ENT specialist or go for the second opinion [ if you are experiencing these symptoms]

2. till then, you can take decongestant nasal drops and tablets [twice daily] for 5 days, along with steam inhalation.
