How Can Chronic Sinusitis And Tinnitus Be Treated?

I have had chronic sinusitis on and off in most of 2017, with 4 rounds of steroids, and 6 of antibiotics. Had sinus surgery last December to open up passages. I’m 60 and female, otherwise healthy excepted for some mild tmj symptoms. At my pre op appt., I was having a loud whooshing sound in my left ear. This continued for about 2 1/2 months, gradually subsided, and I’ve been fine until last night, when a pulsating type of sound returned, not as strong as before. 5 weeks after surgery, My doc ordered a work up and I had a sinus scan and MRI MRA, looking for possible arterial abnormality. All returned negative. My ear seems slightly sensitive, especially when out in the wind which I was day before. I have been in northern Ca, this winter and last, and even though I was tested for many local allergies here, I only showed a slight allergies to dogs and dust mites. Still seem to be sneezy and congested often. Am I missing anything? Would it help to block my ear with cotton when I’m outside?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
It appears from your description that you could be having chronic symptoms due to allergy.
Kindly get absolute eosinophil count done in your blood sample.
If it is high, then you may need to take Monteleukast with Cetirizine combination medication for a longer duration of time.
Kindly consult ENT specialist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided helps.
All the best.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.
