How can chronic cough be treated?

I am troubled with productive cough everyday, I am on corticosteriods inhalers Foxair +Monteair 10mg at night and omnair 2 puff daily I am also on Cozaar comp for my blood pressure. What can I take to stop inrease in mucus production. Please let me know as soon as possible. Kind regards GVP

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different reasons for chronic cough, the most common causes are: (1) post nasal drip of mucus
(2)asthma- not controlled
(4)non asthmatic eosinophilic bronchitis

Assessment of your sputum may be needed to rule out non asthmatic eosinophilic bronchitis. If that is present, a short course of steroids is needed

If that is not the case, you may need a course of anti histamine decongestants combination. This reductions nasal secretions to the back of the throat and helps with post nasal drip of mucus.
