How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

Which medicine i have to use to reduce mucus in throat for my 5years kid. She is suffering from wet cough frim past 10 days. My doctor prescribed combination of ambrodril plus and kidpred syrup. Still is coughing. Soo i am asking u to solve this problem

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic cough which is due to upper respiratory tract infection and poor immunity of kid. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Avoid use of sharp and spicy food substances. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Your symptoms will resolve in 1 week. if symptoms keep son persisting you should consult pediatrician once and take proper treatment. You should get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) at least for 5 days along with decongestant.
