How can chronic cough and cold be treated?

my friend (female) , about 50 years old, has had a bad cough with cold symptoms the past few days. She called me and said she felt a stabbing pain to her head and her eyes have a turning diamond shape where she can t focus enough to read or see normally. She has had aTBI in her past which she takes medication for.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

She might be having sinusitis and upper respiratory infection. For that, she needs to be classically treated with any antibiotics like amoxicillin, ampicillin, levofloxacin, norfloxacin, etcetera.

All her symptoms will subside if full course of any antibiotics according to the body weight is taken. Ask her to take steam inhalation and cough syrups besides gargling with hot water in the morning.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
