How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

i have suffered from abdominal tuberculosis... in may 2016 i have completed my ATT of 9 months. although i have recovered from T.B but i have chronic constipation. i hardly have bowel movements. i have tried several medicines as suggested by doctor but i am not able to overcome it . before starting ATT i have constipation but it was not that chronic. but now nothing is working. may be it is due to the side effects of medicine. although i regularly eat salad and fruits but still nothing is working. also i have low vitamin B12 level .. i am taking multivitamin for that... please suggest how i can overcome this chronic constipation... any supplement can help me..??

dear friend, chronic constipation is an issue with a lot of people who have had any abdominal pathology. few points that need to be changed in your diet are as follows:
1. More liquids like water, fresh juice (not the cans or tins) , buttermilk.
2. more fibres like cabbage, onion and other vegetables and less of processed meat.
3. refrain from cigarette smoking.
4. Psyllium husk can be taken one teaspoonful with water after dinner.
5. Drugs like Cremaffin and bisacodyl can be taken but only when the above measures fail.
Vitamin B12 injections or tablets should be taken to relieve the deficiency.
