Dr.I Started coughing up green/yellow mucus about 3 days ago. I feel fine except for when i have to cough. I m pretty sure its some type of infection or virus, my boss had the same thing 3weeks ago. He was given some type of Zpack. believe he had to take 1 or 2 pills a day for five days. what is the name of some medications i can take or do i need to get a rx. Thank You, Chad
OTC medications such as ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) to lower your fever and help relieve any aches and pains. Use OTC decongestants or expectorants to help loosen mucus and make it easier to cough up. Be sure to get plenty of rest. Drink lots of fluids.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
