Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Chest pain and congestion may be due to lower respiratory tract infection it may be due to viral or bacterial in origin. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use syrp Ascoril 2 teaspoon thrice a day for five days. Use tablet Amoxiclav 625 twice a day for five days. Avoid allergen, use mask while going out, if symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I have been told that i have asthma since i was a child... years have passed and i got better then after i got married it reappeared again. I am now 45 yrs old, apparently where i live in, is humid and my breathing problems (not very heavy but they bother me but i do not have wheezing) occur mostly in colder weather but it s no general rule as they can occur any weather and any time. I take most of the year singulair (once per night) but i don t feel it helps me a lot as i have to also inhale ventolin at least 2x times per day... i always have phlegm sensation in my throat and sometimes on my chest and mostly unable to spit them out. I have been told it s post nasal drip and from my research it s more likely it s a globus. I don t smoke nor drink neither do live in a smokers environment and i still play soccer at my age. I am very fit and compete with players in their 20s and i run pretty well and don t get tired by the effort. I also sometimes have reflux but it has gotten better this year. Worth mentioning that, unfortunately stress is my best companion. Don t know what to do to get better?
