General Surgeon 's  Response
Once cellulitis is resolving with antibiotics, as the inflammation and swelling reduce, the epithelium layer of the skin will start to peel off. This is quite normal. The areas of discoloration will also become normal. To hasten up the process of getting back your normal skin texture, you may apply ant skin softner like petroleum jelly(Vaseline), Nivea or any such cream twice a day.
