How Can Brain Tumour Be Treated?

Hello Doctor, My friend is dying from a brain tumour and has weeks to live. Doctors have stopped treating him with chemo. Can you please recommend a last resort remedy? Green tea, turmeric etc. Can a change of diet or lifestyle do anything for him? Thanks a million in advance Brian

Hello,

I am so sorry your friend is so very ill. This is a tragic situation.

Unfortunately, none of the suggestions you offer is going to stop the progression of his tumour.

I suggest that you go to another medical center(specifically a University Medical Center Hospital with a medical school) and speak to the neuro-oncologists(doctors who treat brain tumors) for a second opinion.

Make an appointment as soon as you can! Be sure to take as much of his medical records, lab results, and imaging studies as you can get with you to the University Medical Center appointment.

Brian, this is absolutely critical to do for your friend. This is something that you will remember for the rest of your life. And YOU need to know that you did everything possible to help him.

Make the appointment even if the University Medical Center is not near where you live and do NOT let anyone try to talk you out of going!

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Arnold Zedd, Pediatrician
