How Can Blocked Heart Arteries Be Treated?

Thanks Doc. I had a bypass surgery five years ago. since then, they found that the main artery which was bypassed has been blocked again, and they could not do anything for it.f But, auxillarry arteries ahve been formed and my Heart is functioning normally. I have been taking Brlliinta 90 tablets twice a day for two years. Is it harmful to take it for a longer period ? Should I switch to Plebix? they ahd given me Plabix after my by pass but it caused rashes!! Thanks for your time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Management of heart artery consists of taking medication without a break with lifestyle changes like reduction of body weight, eating a healthy diet, good controlled blood pressure &cholesterol, avoid stress & have regular optimum exercises.

Formation of collateral blood vessels is a good sign of improvement.

Stopping medicines abruptly without consulting a doctor is not advisable at all.

So Brillincta 90 should be taken regularly without a break till it's?s effective The use of the drug with allergic rash (Plabix) is out of the question.

Do consult your doctor regularly & before any change in medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
