How Can Bleeding After Skin Tag Removal Be Treated?

Hi. I had two internal anal skin tags removed -surgically excised and cauterised situated just inside. This was carried out 9 days ago. It just looks like two slits when gently skin pulled apart to observe but bleeding after each bowel movement and very painful. Is it normal to bleed and how will it ever heal when it keeps getting pulled back open on evacuation of the bowels? Is it normal to stilll be open and bleeding by now? Really concerned about it. Started taking stool softener today to try to reduce trauma to area. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The stool softener is the right move to help soften the stool so that there would be less straining when you are having a bowel movement.

You may also try sitz baths to help with healing. A sitz bath 2 to 4 times a day for 15 to 20 mins would help to sooth the area.
This would be with warm (not hot) water and epsom salt or table salt

I hope this helps
