How Can Asthma In A Child Be Treated?

Hi I have a little boy who is four, he suffers badly with asthma, has been put on to medication to help control it but nothing is working. My doctors responds wasn t Just up his sterioids since taking the orally sterioids he s become very distressed, can t sit still, hitting, punching. And again another nose bleeds. He seems to be having nose bleeds every time he s put onto sterioids. His pumps never seem to help him when he s having an attack. And every time he is put on steroid tablets, surely there must be something else to help him, he can t keep going in hospital every month. He is due to start school in September and going to really struggle

hello there,
kindly use spacer along with the pump it helps to deliver 80-100 percent of the drug rather than using it without spacer which provides only 20 percent of the actual drug to the lungs, try this and see.
use salbutamol pump or syrup for asthma attacks
use steroid in tapering manner e.g thrice for one week then twice for a week then once.
if nose bleeds use otrivin nasal drip and tablet ethamsylate to counter it.
you can also try to keep his room, bed sheets, etc clean , by cleaning and changing often.
avoid using mattress on floor.
kid can try to use mask to avoid exposure to dust, etc.
protect himself from pollens.
this reduce attacks and so the use of steroids will decrease.
regards
