How Can Anal Fissure During A Pregnancy Be Treated?

Hi..I am a Medical graduate myself..but am on a break currently. I have been pretty worried about an anal fissure that I have had for a very long time, but I can keep it under control by eating fibres and hot water baths and things like that.. Even so, it comes and goes regularly. I just found out I was pregnant a week ago and I had the fissure already. I sometimes use a cream to lubricate before I go to the bathroom. I was using Johnson s Baby Cream for the past two three days, but it just occured to me that it might not be safe. I;m not really sure. Can someone plz tell me of a good alternative that will be safe for the baby? Im thinking Petroleum Jelly? Thanks. Plz help

I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns.
For how long u are suffering from it? Any other associated problem? like diabeteS?
you should try conservative management of anal fissure like GTN .5%ointment cream , should be use per rectally three to four times . along with it use any stool softener ,along with dietry modifications
if a conservative management fails then there is need for surgical intervention. simply lord dilatation would be sufficient and it can be done under spinal anesthesia....
so start with conservative option , if it fails, surgical intervention under spinal anesthesia is best solution for u in pregnancy....
Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain
