Hello,

You may need to be reviewed; there are some bacteria that cause ear infections that do not respond to typical antibiotics. You may need to give an alternative course of medication.

In addition, you may need antihistamine/decongestant combination. There may be a change in the pressure of the ear, which is causing the decreased hearing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
