Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes, thank you. I learned today from a catscan I had last week that I have an umbilical hernia and two small benign tumors on my liver. I am a 54 year old non-insulin dependent diabetic. I was wondering if I should be concerned about this and what I can do to help my situation. The reason for the catscan was because of constant pain in my right side, the area where my gallbladder is located. That pain started April 2016.
Umbilical hernia management requires surgery for correctiing the defect with a prolene mesh via a laparoscopy. The benign liver tumors do not need any of the intervention, just regular evaluation of the size or any inadvertent symptoms over the period of time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wish you great health.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
