How Can An Overactive Bladder Be Treated?

Hi,
I am suffering from OAB.Tonight I could not sleep as I had to go bathroom around 10-12 times.I felt that this problem increases after sex and it remains more effective around 2-3 days after you have sex. I feel continuous sensation for going bathroom. When I go bathroom,it,s quantity is less and come back just after couple of minutes it again asks for bathroom. Please advise what things/medicine/exercises needs to do.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think that OAB is triggered by consumption of some kind of food and beverage such coffee, smoking, tomato etc. Try to identify what is triggering it. Also it can result from urinary tract infections. Sex often favorites urinary tract infections. Try to have cranberry juice or tea. Take Ibuprofen for pain and to get some sleep.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
