How Can An Occluded Big Toe With Dry Gangrene Be Treated?

88 yr. old man, hx of leukemia and diabetes, already legally blind and losing weight, just diagnosed with dry gangrene- left big toe. Vascular surgeon states nothing can be done..... blood flow is occulded and if they amputated there would be no oxygen to help heal. What do we do now?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
He has history of leukemia and diabetes. He now has dry gangrene. It is dry so no need to worry about spread of gangrene. It occurs due to lac of blood supply. No treatment is needed for that. Just continue anti diabetic drug and treatment of leukemia as per your doctor's advice.
