How Can An Itchy Ear After Piercing My Ears Be Managed?
I got my earlobes pierced at the mall on Saturday, March 17 with a piercing gun. I’m afraid that it’s infected, but I’m not sure. My right ear is itchy and has a little bit of pain where it’s pierced. My left ear also has a little bit of pain where it’s pierced and the other parts of that left ear is heating up and it’s starting to get red. Please tell me if it’s infected or not. If it is, please give me some suggestions on what I can do. Please and thank you!
Itchy and red ear piercing can be due to an allergic reaction to the metal of your earring. Many times if you wear earring of metal that is not inert in nature then it can react with air and water when exposed and can decompose to release certain products that can react with skin causing allergy. So my suggestion is to wear earrings made of inert material like gold, plastic etcetera. For now, remove the earrings and apply Clobate ointment over the earlobes. Do cool compresses over the earlobes. Once it heals you can wear earrings made of inert material.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
