How Can An Inguinal Hernia Be Treated?

I have a inguinal hernia this will be my first major surgery and I am a little afraid about the process. Being that it is so close to the testicles and penis. What are the risks? What questions should I ask my surgeon before the event and what can I expect after the surgery, I have seen so many recalls on hernia mesh. I am 53, 200lbs., 5 9, in good health and I lift weights and walk.

Hi,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your preoperative stress.

Inguinal hernia is a common condition mostly in males. You don't need to worry too much about this. There is nothing to be afraid because it seems the hernia is too close to testicle but it is not like that.

There will be some recurrent cases but if you follow post operative instructions closely there is nothing to worry.

You need nothing to ask the surgeon because it is not too much complicated procedure except for post operative instructions. You will be healthy within weeks.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back in case you need any further assistance.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
