How Can Acid Reflux And Abdominal Pain Be Treated?

Ive spent the last 2 days in the hospital we made sure it wasn t the heart, it s called acid reflex, my gut hurts so bad and I am not able to find anything to stop the pain. Even the lidocaine cocktail only stops it for s short time. I was sent home with Carafate and omeprazole and neither are helping. Is there anything you know of that could help me?

I have read your message.
I would have liked to know the doses of the medicines.
Also, the tests done would have added to the information.
In lack of these 2 crucial information, you may find the advice inadequate.
Still, I will try to make it useful for you.
I suggest the following measures-
continue the medicines as prescribed- i usually suggest taking omeprazole 20 mg twice a day, and sucralfate (carafate) syrup 20 ml thrice a day.
avoid spices.
avoid non veg.
avoid beverages, team, coffee.
avoid alcohol.
raise the head end of the bed (entire bed).
take plenty of fluids.
try fruits like bananas.

test with amylase and lipase if not already done so. do let me know the reports.

be patient. depending on the damage in the gut, acid reflux may take upto 7-10 days to heal and relieve pain.

meet a gastroenterologist if pain persists.
