General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.
Welcome to health care magic. I understand your concern.
Pregnancy hormones cause decreased motility of intestines...thus food moves slowly in digestive tract... remains in intestines for longer time ... resulting in mal digestion &excessive gas production .water gets absorbed in large intestine.. making the stiols dry &hard.. thus causing constipation.
To avoid this few lifestyle changes help.-Digiene liquid will give temporary relief but change in lifestyle prwvent the problem
- have salads/vegetabkes/fruits in plenty.(fibers)
-Drink lot of water (12glasses in 24hour)minimum apart from other liquid diet.Avoid more water after 7 pm to reduce troublesum night visits to toilet.
-Eat multiple small servings - with a 3 hours gap.. making it 5-6servings in a day.Avoid spicy or oily food .. alcohol.
-Avoid sleeping immediately after food intake
-Regular light exercises like walking, yoga &pranayama.. do help.
Thanks.
