How Can A Tooth Ache With Cavity And Swollen Gums Be Treated?

Hello Doctor, I'm having a bad tooth ache for the last 5days with a swollen cheek and gum. I have had some antibiotics and some of the swelling has come down and my tooth ache is kind of under control. I can not see a dentist as it scares the day lights off me after a bad experience I had some time ago extracting a tooth. the tooth I'm suffering from is some kind of cavity in the middle. please help me with your advise

Hello, Thank you for consulting with HCM.
As you are mentioning that you are having a tooth ache with swollen cheek, it looks that your tooth is having an infection and now the infection has spread to the apex and formed an abscess, that is why swelling.
You have to visit a dentist for the treatment, as only medications will not solve the problem. If you are scared with extraction, it is not necessary that extraction is the treatment for this tooth also , root canal is also the option , so better you visit a good dentist.

extraction is not the only treatment , we dentists deliver. root canal treatment may also hep u relieve the symptoms and lead a healthy life.
so i advise you to go to a dentist, get the appropriate xrays done and then plan accordingly.
