How Can A Swollen Lymph Node Of The Neck Be Treated?

I'm a 20 year old girl. Two days ago I've noticed a small swollen lymph node on my neck on the right side where my jawbone ends. It's painful and hard to touch. I'm worried cause there are no other symptoms and no apparent causes to it. Can you please help me?

Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

A swollen lymp node is commonly seen due to infection that can be in the nearer to distant areas of the body, however tye regional lymp nodes are commonly involved.
As your lymphnode is swollen and painful it is commonly due to infection only and nothing serious.
You can consult an Emergency room and get evaluated.
You can be advised a short script of antibiotics like Augmentin and along with it do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lymph node.
Hopefully it will resolve in a week or even less.
In case if it continues to increase in size FNAC can be done to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
