How Can A Spider Bite Be Treated?

I got bitten by some sort of insect or spider, not sure what it was. When it bit me I was driving so I mashed it. It stung terribly bad I had to pull off the road to let my friend drive. When I arrived home I made a paste of apple cider vinegar and baking soda that took away the pain. A few days ago the area where I was bitten it began to blister and fester. I have been putting Neosporene on it but that didn t help.

Hello,

As per your query, you have symptoms of spider bite infection which is getting sever is due to toxins released by spider sting leading to allergic reaction.

I would suggest you to take proper course of antibiotics and Ibuprofen and cleaning with antiseptic solution. Consult your allergy specialist for proper diagnosis.

Your allergist may conduct skin tests, blood tests and skin-prick test and give you steroids injections. Don't itch the area and apply cold compresses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
