Hi, I have a skin rash on my shins and it wont go away. It is sometimes itchy and I have oval sores of various sizes. They started out small, but some have grown to about 12 mm x 15mm. I get small patches of tiny bumps then a new one erupts turning into a red sore. This sore then may weep clear fluid or some of them end up getting a white crusty patch of skin that flakes of then I have a red sore. It is on both shins and is starting to spread some small sores to the back of my legs although the majority of the sores are on my shins. It has been going on for 3 months and has not improved. They it sometimes. I have tried cortisone cream and it doesn t really seem to make a difference.
As per your case history of rashes on the shin. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
