How Can A Skin Abscess Be Treated?

I currently have a abscess. I have been to my doctor to have it lanced and drained and packed. They told me to do warm compresses over it and slowly get the rest of the puss out. I have done this and there is still a hard lump around it but nothing is coming out. Is it possible that there is still puss? Or tissue scaring? It s on my chin. Thanks Doc :)

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If it's hard and not leaking then probably its not pus. Its better to stop putting pressure as it may bleed.once the fluid comes close it with sterile packing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
