How Can A Severe Finger Injury Be Managed?

i cut my finger the other day with a potato peeler and the cut was pretty deep it took like 4.5 to 5 hours for the cut to stop bleeding and now its just really sore and very hot to the touch. I wanted to know is the cut infected and should i seek medical attention?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history of finger injury, my treatment advice is:

1. Do not squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID like Ibuprofen drug for 5 to 7 days.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
