How Can A Ringworm Infection Be Treated?

I went to the Doctor today for what I thought was a spider bite (since there was two puncture wounds) but actually turned out to be a ringworm the Doctor gave me some ointment for it. I put on some clear coat nail polish when I walked over to my Aunts today, I came home, took it off the nail polish and I could tell the patch was oozing clear fluid. Then I put on my ointment the Doctor told me to get. Is it supposed to ooze while healing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that ring worm is caused by a fungal infection and takes time to subside. I would advise you to not apply anything else on the area apart from the ointment your doctor has prescribed. Most likely he must have prescribed an antifungal ointment containing Miconazole or cotrimazole . If it doesn't improve by local application you may have to take an oral antifungal regime like flucanazole for a few weeks. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
