How Can A Rash Under The Penis Be Treated?

I have a rash on the underside of my penis. It burns, it clears up a bit at times but is embrassing to ask my family doctor about it. I do pee a lot and not sure if some pee lays there and causes problem or did it get chafed from my zipper or underware or what.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms could be due to fungal infection, viral infection like molluscum, dermatitis, friction injury, balanitis, or urethritis.

I would suggest to consult a dermatologist and examination is must for the diagnosis. Specific treatment will depend on cause. Apply clotrimazole ointment. Wear pure cotton loose inner, keep the area clean and dry. Drink plenty of water and fruit juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
