How Can A Painful Pituitary Tumor Be Treated?

Ok hi im anewai bautista mother of 17 yrs old boy who suffered by pituitary tumor probably prolactinoma and aurism spectrum disorder lateral rectus palsy...but he is already undergo to operation Diagnosis; pituitary adenoma s/p craniotomy with partial excision of tumor Question. Why doc that my son is have pain until now? And his protactin is still high what are foods to eat to became his prolactin to be normal? Thank all my question to be answeres Regards.. Ane bautista

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Ok, if the prolactin is high, the tumor is still active. If it produced problems before, and isn't fixed, that would be a reason for continuing problems. Foods will not treat a tumor. BUT there are also medications that can inhibit the tumor. Generally surgery is preferred for treatment.
