How Can A Painful Lump On The Right Knee Be Treated?

I fell pretty hard on my right knee at work last night. A big knot appeared instantly and my knee hurt. I put ice on it last night and today. The swelling has gone down a Lot but is still painful. What is wrong and what can I do to help the pain? Do I need to see a Dr. Or just give it some time. I have taken pain relievers.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
A knee lump can represent:
-a joint deformity due to a chronic inflammatory condition such as arthritis
-a deformity that arises following any kind of injury to the joint.
-infections etc
To diagnose is necessary an xray or ct scan
Some advices that I can give to you are :
-Use warm Water Compresses. An age-old home remedy to treat a lump is warm compresses.
-Vitamin E. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can help treat a lump within a few days.
-Apply Apple Cider Vinegar.
-Avoid irritation and prevent infection. Do not squeeze, scratch, or pick at the lump.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
