How Can A Painful Hematoma On The Hip And Mid Back Be Treated?
I fell down a flight of stairs 2 nights ago and I have a very large hematoma on my hip and mid back I went to the ER and my regular Dr. today with symptom of extremely painful burning which is so painful- I am completely disabled with pain...I have been applying aloe gel w 4% lidocaine on the hematoma which definitely helps, but the pain returns with a vengeance. Any pressure- such as lying down- even if the hematoma area is not layed on- k@yahoo.comicks off the pain. I am at my wits end with this pain- and I am exhausted. What can I do?
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern The pain and hematoma you describe are normal after an injury of that sort. The hematoma will resorp with time.I will advise you get an x-ray to exclude a fracture.Your Doctor may prescribe pain and anti-inflammatory drugs depending on the intensity of pain. You may also try heat/cold therapy. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns. Wish you a speedy recovery
