How Can A Painful Bump Above The Temple Be Treated?

I got slightly hit by my friend right above the temple about 28 hours ago... It wasn t a wind up punch, more of a straight and quick tap that wasn t too hard but is sore to the touch now and hurts when I bite down and yawn. There is a small bump right above my temple, where the corner of my hair is... Should I be concerned?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The bump/swelling and the tenderness would be expected after trauma to an area even if it was mild trauma.

You can consider the use of an anti inflammatory agent to help with the tenderness, pain on using the jaw and swelling. eg naproxen, ibuprofen.
These are over the counter medications.

Application of a cold compress to the tender area may also be helpful. This can be done 2 to 3 times a day for 10 to 15 mins.

I hope this helps
