My husband got into a bad cycling accident 3 days ago where he had a large gash on his forehead and road rash throughout his body. Today he has a lump on his neck about in inch about where it meets the back/shoulders. It does not hurt to move or to push on it but hes starting to have a bad headache. Should we be concerned and should we head back to the ER for them to check out?
Hi,Dear, Thanks for the query to HCM. I studied your problem in depth and I understood your concerns. Treatment of neck lump with headache- This lump in the neck appears to be of hematoma-as its not painful on movement or to push.It would cause bad headache-due to the tissue trauma and tensile hematoma in the lump. Could be treated by-Cold compresses/Antibiotics/ Voltaren gel locally / with Thrombophobe oint locally would resolve the lump fast. If it liquifies ,it may need to be Aspirated and compression bandage-to treat it. I would suggest consultation with ER Surgeon. So don't build up wrong concepts and create more psychic complications in you which would increase risks and costs to you, but just ask a query to HCM and be comfortable to resolve your health issues. Welcome for any more query in this regard to HCM. Write good resume and Click thanks if you feel satisfied with my advise. Have a Good Day. Dr.Savaskar M.N.
