How Can A Nail Prick Injury On The Finger Be Treated?

My husband shot a nail through his finger, all the way through. What is the best way to care for it? He and his coworkers already removed the nail, rinsed it and wrapped it but I don t think that it is probably all that clean on a job site. I would think that there would be nerve or tissue damage or something. Please help

Hi..

As the nail prick injury can lead to infection and if it has passes through and through the finger then it needs to be professionally checked..

You should consult an Emergency room or a Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination has to be done..

A proper disinfection and dressing has to be done followed by a course of antibiotics and painkillers if needed..

In case if the nail was rusted or dirty then tetanus injection has to be taken to be on a safer side..

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
