How Can A Heat Rash In The Groin Area Be Treated?

my husband has a really bad prickley heat rash on his groin and penis that started to oozz this yellow stuff making his underwear stick to his body so everytime he went to the bath room it tore off the scab that is on the head of penis ive been putting corn starch on him and it seems to be helping but he is still having problems with the scab so what i m wondering is if a oatmeal bath would help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
This rash is almost certainly tinea cruris.
It is very common and nothing to worry about.
It can be treated by a number of over-the-counter creams, including
- Canesten hydrocortisone (the hydrocortisone helps the itching),
-Daktarin cream or
-Lamisil cream
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-After showering, make sure you dry the area carefully.
- Using some talcum powder after you have applied the cream may help.
-Wearing boxer shorts is better than Y-fronts.
Hope my answer was helpful,if you have any other question I will be glad to answer, thanks!
