How Can A Concussion Be Diagnosed?

Hi. My son fall from the ladder about 5 steps. Im not able to see what steps he actually starts from falling. After a day i saw a big bump in his head but it is soft. He acts normally with no signs of drowsiness and irritability. Should i need to go for a check up?
