How Can A Cat Scratch On The Hand Be Treated?

Sir, my neighbour s cat scratched on my husband s hand.He has taken TT inj.and advised for rabipur. Is there any problem if he cannot take the 3rd dose of inj. on the allotted date. Will there be any complication if he postpones his dosage by 2 days due to emergent work at native. pl advise. Wound is not so deep but slight bleeding was found while scratch.

The foremost thing to remember in case of animal bite is to wash the wound with soap and water under running tap water.
I hope you had done it.

Suturing of the wounds an absolute contraindication.
Now, with regards to your question on missed dose . The effectiveness of to vaccine is compromised if the dose is missed. So you must strictly adhere to the dosage schedule.If a rabies vaccine is missed, the schedule should resume with the dose missed( if day 7 vaccine is missed, that is 3rd dose, administer a vaccine at ten earliest and call it day 7 dose). The next vaccine that is the fourth dose and the rest of the doses, should be given keeping in mind with the remainder of the 0, 3,7,14,28 day schedule .

But, primary effort should be foccussed on avoidance of missed dose
